 ASI Objectives
An Advanced Study Institute (ASI) is a high-level teaching activity where a carefully defined subject, systematically presented, is treated in depth by lecturers of international standings, and new advances in a subject, not taught elsewhere, are reported in tutorial form. ASIs, as short courses, contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and the formation of international scientific contact. Although the teaching in an ASI is aimed at scientists at the postdoctoral level with an appropriate scientific background, scientists at all levels of experience are encouraged to participate.

The aim of this ASI is to review the remarkable progress made in Quantum Information and Quantum Computation over the last few years and address the current state-of-the-art research and its impact on technological applications. This will be accomplished by a series of lectures, systematically presented, by scientists of international standing. In addition, new theoretical and experimental advances in the Quantum Information Processing area will be reported in tutorial form by a few contributed papers.

The proposed ASI will be a ten-day intensive meeting including in-depth lectures, specialized seminars, and contributed papers, as well as poster sessions. The proceedings of the ASI will be published in a carefully prepared volume entitled "Quantum Information and Quantum Computation: From Theory to Experiments", within 3 months after you have submitted your camera-ready manuscript.

The ASI will start on the morning of Tuesday the 3rd of May (Welcoming reception in the evening of Monday the 2nd) and finish by lunch time on Friday the 13th.
